Police
Mechanic
The
Post Falls Police Department seeks a Full Time Journey-level Mechanic to
maintain and repair Police Department vehicles.
This is a lead position which performs maintenance, preventive and
safety inspection functions; Services police vehicles; diagnoses, repairs
and overhauls a variety of electrical, heating and cooling, emissions,
power train, chassis, fuel systems, and related mechanical systems;
brakes, and transmission controls; installation of specialized equipment
in new police vehicles such as: radios, emergency lighting systems, push
bumpers, prisoner cage, firearms racks and locks, camera equipment, and
related equipment and systems; Also assists in estimating costs and labor
or work orders;
Minimum
requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalency, Two (2) years
experience in auto or equipment mechanics, including one (1) year
computerized diagnostics experience; Any equivalent combination of
experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities
necessary to perform the work.
Wage:
$15.22 per hour (non-exempt) with excellent benefits.
