Patrol Lieutenant
R. Scot Haug
The Patrol Division
is the uniformed section of the Police Department and consists of a Patrol
Lieutenant, four Patrol Sergeants, eighteen Patrol
Officers, three Traffic Officers, two Animal Safety Officers and one vehicle
mechanic. Each of the Patrol Shifts are
typically commanded by a Sergeant with Patrol Officers assigned accordingly.
This division operates 24 hours per day seven days a week.
The functions of the Uniform Patrol Division are
preventing violations of statutes and ordinances, suppressing disturbances,
investigating accidents, enforcing traffic laws, directing traffic, responding to
calls for service, and patrolling of residential and business areas. Whenever
law enforcement assistance is required, the Patrol Division is the first to
respond.
 |
Officers of this Division are highly trained in
various specializations including traffic accident investigation. The Post
Falls Police Department has also developed a specialized Patrol Assistance Team
(P.A.T.) which is available to respond to critical incidents. |
In 2003 the Patrol Division responded to over
20,780 calls for service. Patrol Officers respond to all police, fire and
medical calls as a first responder and are available and trained to provide what
ever assistance is needed. The busiest hours for the patrol division is the
swing shift.
If you need to contact the Patrol Division feel
free to call or e-mail us. Visit the Post Falls Police "contact
us" page. If you are experiencing traffic problems in your neighborhood
and wish to report the problem you can do so by
visiting our traffic enforcement page.
Idaho recently passed a new child
